Can a charmed creature choose to fail calm emotions?

The description of the calm emotions spell says (emphasis mine): You attempt to suppress strong emotions in a group of people. Each humanoid in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on a point you choose within range must make a Charisma saving throw; a creature can choose to fail this saving throw if it wishes.

Can you play as a zombie in DND?

Yes, but maybe not like you think. In Dungeons & Dragons, zombies are not contagious and being bitten by one does not turn you into a zombie. This is why you do not see anything in the Monster Manual about players being turned into zombies. Zombies are created primarily through use of the Animate Dead spell.

you just can’t move or take actions. So if they are paralyzed they wont be attacking, and will most likely be ignored as a non-threat for the duration of the paralysis, so the Rage will most likely end.

Harming themselves, either directly or indirectly, would keep it up, and at that point it’s a game of chicken as to which ends first, the rage or the calm emotions effect. This is a classic case of “what does the spell actually do” vs “what do we think it should do”. It does not say it ends rage effects, so it does not.

Can a calm emotions spell end the Barbarian Rage?

I was curious what other DMs think about the following scenario. If bone naga is concentrating on Calm Emotions, would a calm emotions spell end the barbarian rage or would they just be calmly raging until either the spell ends or is interrupted?
