Neither Scourge nor Fallen aasimar has flight as a racial feature. If you are playing Adventurer’s League, then yes, during the current season (9) every Aasimar and Tiefling can trade in specific abilities for the flight ability.
Are Aasimar wings visible?
Volo’s says the eyes glimmer and two luminous, incorporeal wings. However, the Scourge specifically says you shed bright light 10′ and dim another 10′, so the Protectors wings should be visible in normal darkness and that’s about it.
Can Aasimar have permanent wings?
If you want a permanent flying aasimar, the best thing to do is to compare them with Tieflings (who also get wings as a racial variant). Tieflings need to give up their Infernal Legacy feature for it. This is basically a cantrip, two 1/day lvl 2 spells.
Can a fallen aasimar use their wings to glide or use them?
As Fallen Aasimar wings are “flightless” and there are no rules for flying with them you can’t use them to fly, as there are no rules for using them to glide or slow fall (and they are “skeletal and ghostly”, so have no feathers, no physical existence, and don’t actually provide any air resistance) you can’t use them for that either.
How tall do you get with winged aasimar?
Winged. You have feathered wings sprouting from your shoulder blades. You have a flying speed of 30 feet. This trait replaces the Celestial Legacy trait. Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Celestial.
Is there a tiefling variant of aasimar with wings?
Aasimar Subrace The Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide introduced the tiefling variant with wings (p.118). If there are infernal offspring with wings, then there are also celestial offspring with more permanent wings.
What should the flying speed of an aasimar be?
I think that the fllying aasimar should lose the light cantrip, and the ability they get from whatever subrace aasimar they are (necrotic shroud or radiant soul/consumption). A flying speed of 30 is fine then.
