The homunculus servant understands the languages the artificer speaks, but does not have the ability to actually speak any.
What things can an Artificer make?
Each Artificer has the ability to infuse a mundane item with magical properties. This represents you creating temporary magitech items that you–or one of your allies–can use. You learn a set number of “infusions” starting at four and ramping up by two every four levels until you hit 12 infusions known at 18th level.
What happens to the homunculus servant if it dies?
On ERLW pg. 62, from the Homunculus Servant entry, it reads; “The item you infuse serves as the creature’s heart, around which the creature’s body instantly forms.” “If it dies, it vanishes, leaving its heart in its space.” Given this, I can see two distinct possibilities of how you would go about reviving the Homunculus Servant.
How does an artificer work as a homunculus?
Its a construct–it does not breath, nor can it drown, immune to poison, exhaustions. while it can not speak- it does understand your language-meaning it knows your langauges. so it can still sketch out layouts, or write down what it heard, etc. its cheaper on dispoosible nature.
How to infuse homunculus servant in D & D?
On your character sheet go to the “Equipment” tab, then find the “Infusions” sub-tab/section > Find the “Homunculus Servant” Infusion > Select that Infusion then find where it says “Item to be Infused” and hit “Choose” > It will give you a list of different gems to choose the “Base” item you are applying the infusion to.
Can a half caster be a homunculi?
The Battle Smith’s Steel Defender is also arguably a type of homunculus, but, again, seems demonstrably distinct from these other types of homunculi. As half-casters, artificers also can’t get up to 6th-level spells, which means that they don’t have access to the Create Homunculus spell either.
