Carver/Bethany will only be there for Act 1, a few scenes near the end of Act 2 and they finally rejoin your party in the final stretches of Act 3: At least, Carver does, regardless of what he did and who you joined. if you joined the Templars while Bethany is at the circle, she gets killed without being able to join your party.
