Detect Magic will not identify a polymorphed Changeling. The changeling’s Shapechanger ability states: Shapechanger. As an action, you can polymorph into any humanoid of your size that you have seen, or back into your true form. However, your equipment does not change with you.
Can true sight see through changelings?
With this logic, I do not rule that true sight can reveal a changeling because whatever form it is currently in, is in fact, it’s true form. The only two moments a Changeling may actually be in “Changeling form” are when it comes into the world, and when it leaves.

When a spell-caster uses magic, the colors of the aura will waver between the color of the school of magic in which the spell is from or the spell-caster them self. The innate magical talent within a spell-caster, once grown, may emit its own unique color.
Can a caster detect the size of an aura?
Detect Magic does not necessarily reveal the size of an aura or the nature of the spell, and only reveals the school of visible auras if the caster uses an action to perceive auras. Can a warlock cast detect magic without spending a spell slot?
For most classes, yes it is more limiting. Warlock can take “Eldritch Sight” Invocation on level 2 and gain the ability to cast Detect Magic at will without spending a spell slot. What colours of Aura’s tie in with what items?
Can you detect magic from behind a wall?
You can sense that there is magic from behind a 1-foot wall, but you cannot discern which school that magic relates to. For example, a character can sense that there is magic behind a door, but not what kind of magic. To se the aura around an object the object has to be visible to the character.
