Hey guys, I just wanted to know if you can see in a fog cloud if you have devil’s sight? Nope, fog is not darkness. Fog would be a physical barrier made of water vapor.
Does Devil’s Sight and Darkvision stack?
Devil’s Sight is NOT Darkvision! Yes, we know. But as there isn’t currently a way to add a custom vision type, Darkvision is as close as it gets, and it STILL shouldn’t stack with any preexisting Darkvision that the character has (like it currently does.)

By this, we can tell that you see in total darkness as if it were full light. You gain no bonuses in dim light from Devil’s Sight — but other sources of darkvision might apply. It is a weird ruling, but it official. You can see normally in darkness, both magical and nonmagical, to a distance of 120 feet.

Theres no interaction with dim light because you can see ‘normally in darkness both magical and *non magical* non magical darkness would just be…darkness, dim light, darkness, shadow, call it any form of light obscurrity caused by light or abscence of light and i can see through it unless stated by the obscuritty
What does Devil’s sight do for your character?
Everything and their mother has darkvision now, but Devil’s Sight giving you that edge in magical darkness will define your character in an eerie way that you can work into the RP aspect, like “Some dark power cries out in the darkness, and _________ always emerges alive while their foes are butchered in a macabre way”
Can a chain devil see in dim light?
Magical Darkness blocks normal darkvision, so creatures without devils’ sight cannot see, and are effectively blinded. Lets take the example of the Chain Devil. In the stat block, it states that it has darkvision, 120ft. Therefore, a the chain devil can see normally in Dim Light, and as Dim Light in Darkness.
