No general rule allows you to insert a bonus action between attacks in a single action. You can interrupt a multiple-attack action with a bonus action/reaction only if the trigger of the bonus action/reaction is an attack, rather than the action.
When can you take bonus action?
You can take a bonus action only when a special ability, spell, or feature states that you can do something as a bonus action. A reaction is an instant response to a trigger of some kind, which can occur on your turn or on someone else’s.
Are cantrips free actions?
The use of a cantrip costs an action; specifically, the “Cast a Spell” action. They can be cast as bonus actions through the Sorcerer’s Metamagic (Quickened Spell), and as reactions through the War Caster Feat, but beyond those bounds cantrips always cost an action to cast.
How long does a bonus action take?
You can not do double bonus actions in 5th edition. A round of combat takes about 6 seconds (10 rounds = 1 minute of combat). Bonus actions are so because they take either little effort or little time to perform so you could unsheathe a weapon (minor act.), attack (standard act.)
What happens when you prepare a bonus action spell?
When you ready a spell, you cast it as normal but hold its energy, which you release with your reaction when the trigger occurs. Can a cantrip be cast with a bonus action?
Bonus Action. A spell cast with a bonus action is especially swift. You must use a bonus action on your turn to cast the spell, provided that you haven’t already taken a bonus action this turn. You can’t cast another spell during the same turn, except for a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action.
Can you take the ready action on your turn?
Yes, you can. It is an action just like any other, and is taken on your turn. Secondly when the trigger goes off do you have to wait for your turn or do you in effect get a bonus turn? It’s a reaction, and happens immediately. It’s not another turn, nor do you have to wait. It happens when the trigger, well, triggers it.
What happens when you ready an action in Fortnite?
When you ready an action, you store your action for later use (using your reaction). You still perform your move, bonus, and free actions on your turn. This means you would be able to move to the lever that opens the trap door on your turn, then ready an action to pull the lever when the cultists steps on the trap door.
