No. Asari don’t actually use any of the DNA they get from melding. All it’s used for it to scramble their own DNA in a certain way. Their children are all essentially clones.
Can quarians and humans breed?
Nope. Quarians have dextro amino acids, whereas we have levo. That means that the is a difference in chirality such that every single protein functional in a human would not be producible by a quarian cell and vice versa. A cell could not produce both kinds of amino acids because they are mutually exclusive.
What are Turians based on?
dextro-amino acids
Like the quarians, turian biochemistry is based on dextro-amino acids, which sets them apart from most other species, including humanity, which are based on levo-amino acids. They cannot eat human food, or ingest any substance that is based on levo-amino acids.
Why do quarians look like humans?
Their eyes can see into the ultraviolet end of the spectrum; their suit HUDs can show information in those wavelengths. Quarian facial structure and hair actually makes them the most similar to humans in physical appearance.
Can humans and Turians?
Palaven has a climate similar to Earth’s with many of the biomes being almost tropical and humid. But humans are advised not to go outside without their suits while on Palaven. The human body cannot handle the radiation levels on Palaven as the Turians have evolved to.
Can turians and humans have babies?
So on average, our turians are stronger and more energetic than humans, but their lungs are less capable than human ones. According to Patrick Weekes’ twitter (private, cannot confirm personally), turians give birth to live offspring like humans do, but you’ve seen how slim turian bodies are.
What do turians and quarians need to eat?
So Turians and Quarians probably need to ingest amino acids like leucine and arginine and glutamic acid, the same way humans need to ingest leucine and arginine and glutamic acid. Their amino acids are just “backwards.”
What kind of body does a quarian have?
Another interesting aspect of quarian biology is that they are a dextro-protein based species, similar to the turians, as opposed to levo-protein based species such as humans and asari. This means that quarians — and turians — are unable to eat the same foods as many other Mass Effect races.
How is the life span of a turian similar to a human?
The lifespan of a turian is comparable to that of a human. Turians exhibit the characteristics of predators rather than those of prey species (compare to krogan biology ).
What kind of society does the turian have?
Turian society is a rigid one, and it is largely based on the Hierarchy’s powerful military. Not all Turians are actually enlisted soldiers or commissioned officers, but all Turian youths must complete basic training as adolescents.
