Haste gives an extra action that can be used to take an attack action that is limited to 1 attack. So yes, 4 attacks. Notably, you can use your action to cast haste, use the hasted action to make 1 attack, and use your bonus action for PAM in the same turn which is neat.
Can you cast a spell as a reaction and an action?
Can you cast a reaction spell as a normal action in D&D? No. Reactions always occur as a result of an explicit trigger. In that sense, such a trigger will never occur in the timeframe of a normal action, unless the trigger occurs in that timeframe (such as jumping off a cliff on your turn, triggering Feather Fall).
Can you use a reaction as an action?
Your turn is generally comprised of Actions and Bonus Actions, but a specific turn can include a reaction. You can only take Actions and Bonus Actions on your turn within a round. Your Reaction can be taken on your turn or on someone else’s within the round.
Can you cast Haste on yourself?
Yes, you can cast Haste on yourself. The reason they must be a WILLING target is due to the downside of the spell at the end.
Can you cast a spell and attack at the same time?
Usually, you cannot cast a spell and attack during the same turn, as most spells, including Fire Bolt, have a casting time of 1 action, and attacking usually requires you to take the Attack action.
Can you cast a spell on your turn?
On your turn, you can move a distance up to your speed and take one action. The “Attack” action and the “Cast a Spell” action are both actions, listed on page 192. So if you take the Attack action, you can’t also cast a spell that requires 1 action to cast (such as firebolt ).
Can you use action surge to cast a spell?
If you take an attack action you may only make up to as many attacks as granted by extra attacks. So at level 20 you may make up to 4 attacks. You cannot use one of those to cast a spell. As a fighter you can use ACTION SURGE to make a 2nd action, which would then allow you to make your attacks and cast a spell.
Can you cast two action spells in one round?
Action surge lets you cast 2 action spells (not required to be cantrips unless a spell is cast as bonus action, then both must be cantrips). War caster feat let’s you cast action spells as attack of opportunity (follows reaction spell rules).
