SIE launched the latest iteration of the PlayStation Store for web in October, ahead of the launch of PlayStation 5 the following month. As well as a revamped layout, the new store removed support for purchasing PS3, PSP and Vita games and add-ons, plus PS4 apps, themes and avatars.
Are the PS3 servers being shut down?
PlayStation will not be shutting down its servers or store for PS3. While they’d initially announced they would close their PS3 game store, the company later reversed the decision.
Is the PS3 store still up 2021?
Sony has announced that it’ll be keeping its PS3 and PlayStation Vita digital storefront open “for the foreseeable future.” The PSP’s store will still be shut down on July 2nd, 2021, as originally planned. So today I’m happy to say that we will be keeping the PlayStation Store operational for PS3 and PS Vita devices.

It’s real. Sony is removing the stores from the PS3, PSP and PS Vita. YOU BETTER GET SOME OF THE GAMES THAT ARE HARD TO FIND BEFORE THEY ARE GONE. I highly recommend getting Klonoa for the PS1 on the PlayStation store.

PS3: Avatar The Game, 007 Bloodstone, 007 Goldeneye, 007 Quantum of Solace, Gran Turismo 5, Turok. You can now add cyberpunk 2077! Raystorm HD is no longer on US PSN for PS3. May be in other regions though.

On Thursday, Sony emailed PlayStation customers to let them know that items like PlayStation 3 games, PlayStation Vita Games, PSP Games, Avatars, apps and Themes will no longer be available for purchase through the web or mobile versions of the PlayStation Store.
Do you have to keep an old PS3 console?
You shouldn’t have to keep old consoles around simply because you might want to play a handful of games that will otherwise not be easily available in the future, and you certainly shouldn’t have to be dependent on those old consoles’ ability to digitally download some of those games.
