This is the exact same wording (“invisible sensor”) as used in Scrying. The description for Clairvoyance, however, is more thorough since it specifies the following: The sensor remains in place […] and it can’t be attacked or otherwise interacted with.

Several magic spells, antimagic field, mind blank, nondetection and wardmist can block scrying. Magic items, such as weirdstones can block scrying.

The 5th-level Sor/Wiz spell Mordenkainen’s private sanctum [abjur] (PH 256-7) for 1 day prevents scrying in an impressively big area. This is what creatures use when they aren’t on the move. Conveniently, the effect can be made permanent using the 5th-level Sor/Wiz spell permanency [univ] (PH 259-60).

Can you cast spells through scrying?
You can cast spells while Scrying nothing about the spell stops you from casting spells (though concentration rules apply as normal). You can not cast spells through the Scyring spell itself so that you could target a creature you can see with Scrying.
Can Blindsight see scrying?
Blindsight can detect invisible objects. Implies that this sensor is an object or at least treated like an object for the matter of perception. Blindsight doesn’t inform the creature about the nature of the spell.
Does detect magic detect spells?
Detect magic can detect the presence of any spell, unless a spell is cloaked by something like Nystul’s magic aura.
Can you SCRY on a dead person?
Re: Can you Scry a dead person? So long as he has seen the payment, the caster could use Locate Object and specify the payment. For that matter, he could use the same spell on the corpse, if he suspects the guy is dead. However, the range on Locate Object is terrible (long range).

5e does not have any available option to trace back the scrying to it’s source, so this isn’t really a viable option. Dispel magic (PHB, 234) will allow you to target the now seen sensor from your lantern of revealing (DMG, 179)
