Can an unconscious creature hear 5e?
A creature that is unaware of their surroundings is unaware of any sounds, and therefore cannot benefit from Effects that require them to hear something. “Specific overrules General” applies here. If a creature is (only) Unconscious, they cannot hear (“… are unaware …”).
Is giving someone a potion an action?
Drinking/administering a potion takes an action, as you cited from DMG at p. 139. That’s the general rule in effect, unless specifically contradicted.
Can a Goodberry not be administered to an unconscious person?
In reality, you can induce a swallowing reflex by massaging the throat, which is helpful for feeding something to an unconscious person (or an uncooperative pet, as per personal experience) – that seems like a reasonable thing to be able to do with an action. When to use goodberries in D & D 5e?
Goodberry was a late addition, but it was 1/day (fairly hard limit), 4 berries, 10 hps each and some alternate uses, available at 10th level. Any sort of non-surge healing was usually pretty limited in 4e.
Can a non-life cleric use a Goodberry?
So the life cleric might be choosing between goodberry with a 2nd level slot for 50 or prayer of healing 102. And the non-life cleric is choosing between 10 and 78. In many campaigns, healing outside of combat is easily taken care of with short rests and the occasional healing potion (most D&D campaigns end up handing out quite a few).
When to use good berries in dungeons and Dragons?
However you do start the first day with 3. SO around 8 or 9pm the night before you cast 3 good berry spells. you go into the dungeon with 30 berries each with 4hp so 120hp of reserve healing on top of what else you have.
