Clarification: with crossbow expert, you can shoot a single hand crossbow twice, once with your action and once with your bonus action as crossbow itself is a one handed weapon. Wielding two and firing each of them once doesnt make a mechanical difference in this regard.

The light property allows people to use two-weapon fighting without the dual wielder feat. Two weapon fighting requires melee weapons. So having light as a property is really misleading and gives no benefits whatsoever to hand crossbows. Just letting people know.
