Being a fighter/wizard is probably great at levels 8 if you are F5/W3 but at lvl 7 you either have 2 attacks and 1st level spells or second level spells and 1 attack. Where as a single wizard would have 4th level spells and a EK would have 2nd level spells at 7th lvl.
