They don’t require sleep to survive but fiends as well as celestials require some form of rest to revitalize their minds and bodies. If this wasn’t true they wouldn’t have 1/day abilities. They don’t need to eat either, but they can choose to. Demons frequently eat each other, and anything else they come across.
