It is being created by a spell, using a melee spell attack to hit, and the spell damage increases with level. Thus it is magical damage. The spell description only states piercing damage, and it’s the object created by the spell that does the damage rather than the spell directly. Thus it is nonmagical damage.
Does a +1 weapon count as magic?
There is no such thing as “magical damage”. The list of damage types includes “radiant”, “necrotic”, “bludgeoning”,”fire”, and so on. The +1 Mace does Bludgeoning damage, but it is a magic item and therefore does so as a magical attack. Hence it bypasses the resistance to “bludgeoning damage from non-magical attacks”.
Do you really know how to cast spells?
Casting spells is how the game of Magic is played and won. It’s relatively difficult to win a game, much less a match, without casting a spell. Players generally have a lot of shortcuts here when they are casting spells. Targets are handled by “Bolt your guy” or just pointing the spell at the intended target.
Can you cast an enhancement spell on a natural weapon?
An enhancement bonus does not stack with a masterwork weapon’s +1 bonus on attack rolls. You can’t cast this spell on a natural weapon, such as an unarmed strike (instead, see magic fang). A monk’s unarmed strike is considered a weapon, and thus it can be enhanced by this spell.
Can you use an opportunity attack to cast a spell?
You can’t if the spell attack is created by casting a spell. When a creature triggers an opportunity attack from you, you can use your reaction to make a melee attack against it. The opportunity attack doesn’t suddenly give you the ability to cast a spell, such as shocking grasp. Each spell has a casting time.
When to cast a protection spell on someone?
If you have a feeling someone you love or someone you care about needs a sort of protection casting a generic spell might be the right call. It’s a good place to start! Here is how I did it when I don’t feel the need to commit to a specific kind of energy and or ask a god/goddess for help.
