After the war is over, Ralof is presumed to either be dead or in hiding. Since you sided with the Empire, you’ll never see him again.
Does it matter who you escape helgen with?
Source: UESP, adventuring! So in truth, it makes no real difference who you choose to follow escaping; only that you have the option of killing either one, which is why they are gone from the game after leaving Helgen. Remember: both Ralof and Hadvar enter the same building on different sides.
Who should I follow out of helgen?
There are two characters you can follow to safety: Raolf, a Stormcloak soldier, or Alvor, a blacksmith who lives in the small town of Riverwood. It doesn’t matter who you follow; your next destination will be Riverwood. Your companion advises you to split up, but it’s actually better to follow them to Riverwood.
Who saves you in helgen?
Alduin attacks Helgen personally for no clear reason, the only thing that saves the Dragonborn and Ulfric (who can Shout and thus can be mistaken for the Dragonborn) from execution.

The Argonian racial is especially effective here. Stopping Points: 20, 30, not recommended to go higher, takes too long. Faendal: if you gain no levels in helgen and get him as a follower, you can get 50 archery immediately with around 500 gold.
How to abuse Helgen keep to make exceptional?
If you go with Hadvar, instead of opening the chest you can take the sword off the wall and whack him for levels in one handed and sneak, or burn him for magic levels. When Hadvar/Ralof crouch at the bear, you can sneak/one hand/two/hand/mage them for levels.
What happens to ralof or hadvar after Helgen?
That is to say, if you go with Ralof but join the Imperial Legion then you will eventually encounter Hadvar, and vice versa. So clearly they both survive. OH YEAH! I forgot about that. Yeah you meet Hadvar or Ralof in the quest for the Jagged Crown despite who you escape Helgen with.
Which is easier to train ralof or Helgen keep?
Training with Ralof is easier since you don’t have access to daggers in the first room with Hadvar. Stopping Points: 50, 70, 100, Legendary 50/70/100. One Handed: This skill is tough to train in Helgen, it levels slow although leveling sneak simultaneously really helps.
