Now, if you are trying to do something along the lines of Tiefling and Variant Tiefling, then you need to uncheck the “has subraces” box and create Variants instead. If you the issue you are referring to is homebrew subraces of homebrew races not being grouped under the parent race in the builder, yes it’s a known issue. I would guess it’s one they hope to address eventually. But I don’t know how high a priority it has in regards to other features.
