Yes, you can cast prepared spells which require only Verbal and/or Somatic components when deprived of your focus. (As long as you can produce the Verbal and Somatic components, that is.) The focus only functions to replace (subject to the limitations you mentioned) such Material components as are required.
Can you cast cantrips without spell slots?
Warlocks get these Spell Slots back after Short Rests. Cantrips are free magic — if you know a cantrip, you can cast it as many times as you want, whenever you want. Cantrips don’t need to be prepared, and they don’t use up Spell Slots.
What is needed to cast cantrips?
You must use a bonus action on your turn to cast the spell, provided that you haven’t already taken a bonus action this turn. You can’t cast another spell during the same turn, except for a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action.
Can you up cast cantrips?

Each class has a “spellcasting ability”. This is the ability score used to determine how effective you spells are, and affects a number of things, including your number of spells prepared (if applicable), the saving throw DC of your spells, and your spell attack modifier.
Can you cast a spell while grappling or pinned?
The only spells you can cast while grappling or pinned are those without somatic components and whose material components (if any) you have in hand. Even so, you must make a Concentration check (DC 20 + the level of the spell you’re casting) or lose the spell.
Can you cast more than one Cantrip per turn?
Yes. The rule for casting any spell with a bonus action says that the only other spells you may cast that turn are cantrips with an action. That’s not accurate. The rule is you can only cast one leveled spell per turn except for Action Surge. Whether it’s cast with a bonus action or action is irrelevant.
