Do you need line of sight for Moonbeam?

Moonbeam: A silvery beam of pale light shines down in a 5-foot radius, 40-foot-high cylinder centered on a point within range. On each of your turns after you cast this spell, you can use an action to move the beam 60 feet in any direction. Both spells note no line of sight is required.

Do you need line of sight for dissonant whispers?

You don’t have to see your target unless the target as defined by the spell is one “that you can see.” Dissonant Whispers does not require line of sight. A clear path to the target is line of effect. This is an important distinction when it comes to blinded casters or invisible targets.

Do you have to be in line of sight to cast a spell?

No. You don’t need to be within line of sight or within range to maintain concentration on a spell, unless a spell’s description or other game feature says otherwise. The Sage Advice Rules of Spellcasting article on Wizards’ site confirms this:

What happens when you go outside the range of a spell?

Does going outside the range of the spell or breaking line of sight between the caster and target break concentration or otherwise affect control over the spell? For example, a Heat Metal spell has a range of 60 ft.

Do you have to be within line of sight for concentration spells?

You don’t need to be within line of sight or within range to maintain concentration on a spell, unless a spell’s description or other game feature says otherwise. It does specify that PHB 203 applies for concentration spells too, and nor range nor LoS is limiting concentration. (Grease and Alarm isn’t concentration spells, but Web is.)

Can you concentrate on a spell from another plane?

So, you can still concentrate on a spell, even if you or the affected target moves to another plane, unless the spell description specifically says that you can’t. As long as you were in range, with line of sight, line of effect, or whatever the spell requires at the moment you cast it, it doesn’t actually matter what happens afterwards.
