The two-weapon fighting rule requires two light melee weapons. The Dual Wielder feat removes the requirement for the weapons to have the Light property, but you still need two melee weapons. Unarmed strikes aren’t weapons.
Can you use flurry of blows while dual wielding?
Flurry of Blows can only be done with unarmed strikes exclusively (although your Attack action for it can be with whatever you want). Two-weapon fighting need the light weapon property (that Unarmed Strikes lack).
Can you dual wield fists DND?
Yes you can, but unarmed attacks do literally 1 damage and you don’t add your modifier to damage on the offhand attack, so they need to have exactly 1 hp in order for this to be effective.
Do you need the dual wielder feat for Unarmed Strikes?
Unarmed strikes have no properties, they are not light, finesse, or versatil. You would need the Dual Wielder feat to make a bonus action attack with your unarmed strike if you are not a monk, no matter what weapon you hold in your main hand.
Can a monk gain the benefit of the dual wielder?
The upshot is that you get the +1 to AC as stated above. Any character can attack with two unarmed attacks provided the second attack is the bonus action. What a monk gets is to add their ability modifier bonus to damage with the second attack. No other player gets that. But, Dual Wielder is redundant and unneeded.
When do you need the dual wielder feat?
You would need the Dual Wielder feat to make a bonus action attack with your unarmed strike if you are not a monk, no matter what weapon you hold in your main hand. I’m of the opinion that if a two pound throwing hammer or handaxe is a “light” weapon, your fist, which weighs two pounds less, would be “light” as well.
Can a monk wield two one handed weapons?
• You can use two-weapon fighting even when the one handed melee weapons you are wielding aren’t light. • You can draw or stow two one•handed weapons when you would normally be able to draw or stow only one. When you use the Attack action with an unarmed strike or a monk weapon on your turn, you can make one unarmed strike as a bonus action.
