You can also use your bonus action to make an additional attack. You only add your ability modifier to the damage of that bonus-action attack if you have the Two-Weapon Fighting fighting style (PHB, page 72):
Does sneak attack stack with extra attack?
The Sneak Attack feature states (among other things): Once per turn, you can deal an extra 1d6 damage to one creature you hit with an attack if you have advantage on the attack roll. The attack must use a finesse or a ranged weapon.
