I’d rule it doesn’t since every vampire would have someone on hand to cast the spell should the vampire get trapped in most from. Basically when you cast Moonbeam on the vampire/mist you kill it. It is forced to turn back into the vampire form and takes also damage.
How does Misty escape work in mist form?
If the Misty Escape feature triggers each time the Vampire takes damage while at 0 hit points, it could be argued that the feature stabilizes the Vampire each time. However, the trigger for Misty Escape is that the Vampire drops to 0 hit points (outside its resting place).
Can a vampire bleed out in Misty escape?
The vampire wouldn’t technically be bleeding out. Not to mention, if death saving throws were an issue, it would likely be noted in the Misty Escape text.
