Traps, or more precisely Secrets, are Spells and are affected by Spell Damage, but in a slightly different way than usual. The bonus to damage dealt by Secrets is applied when it triggers, and not when it is being cast.
Does evasion and resistance stack?
Even if you have it from two different sources, you still just have “Resistance”. It WILL stack with other damage-reducing effects like making a saving throw, Evasion, Uncanny Dodge, etc. Even though those abilities usually reduce the damage taken by half, they’re not “Resistance”.
Does spell damage affect secrets?
Spell Damage boosts the damage dealt by healing spells affected by Auchenai Soulpriest and Embrace the Shadow, since they are turned into spells with damaging effects. Spell Damage boosts damaging Secrets (such as Eye for an Eye and Explosive Trap), since they are spells.
Does increased spell damage affect mines?
Yes. Here’s what you do: find the keywords by either looking at the gem ingame or checking out the wiki. For Fire Trap, the keywords are Fire, Trap, Spell, Duration, and AoE. Any nodes with the same keywords will affect the gem.
Can you activate traps during battle phase?

What happens if you step on a hunting trap?
A creature that steps on the plate must succeed on a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw or take 1d4 piercing damage and stop moving. The Hunting Trap requires a saving throw in order to avoid the effect. It does not make an attack roll, so it is not an attack and blade ward will not grant resistance against its damage.
