Since Spore was developed in 2008, it is only compatible with Windows XP and Vista.

Is there a way to play Spore for free?
You can still play Spore online, although the game is not free to download. It also does not offer a free trial. Users can, however, download the Spore Creature Editor free of charge to practice creating the characters that will live in their world. The game is available for Microsoft Windows PCs and Mac OS X.

Someone has said the same thing on another post, yes they are up. Type into Google “Origin client download” and then download and install. Then go back to steam and right-click on Spore to get the CD key/keys. You still launch the game from steam, just use your origin to register.

Why was there never a Spore 2?
The developer studio was closed many years ago, Maxis Studio is no longer available for Spore and therefore there will be no sequel.
How do I install spore on origin if I own the disc version?
Contact EA Origin support at with your serial codes – they will add the games and expansions directly to your current Origin account. If you already have the game installed from disc, you likely already have a Spore account. When you uninstall the disc version, you can choose to leave the Spore saved data in place.
Which is more stable origin spore or steam spore?
