Alert does not protect you from Sneak Attacks. It does rob the thief (the irony…) of at least one way to apply a sneak attack (having advantage by being hidden), but not if he has advantage by other means, or an ally of his is within 5 feet of you, or he is a Swashbuckler and he’s alone with you, and so on.
Is alert feat worth?
The Alert feat, in my opinion, gives some great advantages for almost any class: You gain a +5 bonus to initiative. You can’t be surprised while you are conscious. Other creatures don’t gain advantage on attack rolls against you as a result of being hidden from you.
What happens if you dont take the alert feat?
The alertness feat simply means this never happens to you. Without the alert feat, hidden attackers can surprise you, giving them a free round where you cannot attack. They also get advantage on their strikes on you because they were hidden from you. By taking the alert feat, you negate this (for yourself only).
When does the alert feat negate sneak attack?
The most common source of advantage for a rogue is hiding, and Alert does help with that. However, Alert does nothing if the rogue has an ally in melee with you, or against other sources of advantage (such as a faerie fire spell).
When do you get the assassinate feature in RuneScape?
You are right for the number of critical hits. The Assassinate feature (PHB, p. 97) says: Starting at 3rd level, you are at your deadliest when you get the drop on your enemies. You have advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn’t taken a turn in the combat yet.
How does the alert feat change the first turn of?
Alert I find is better thought of as “Lightning Reflexes”. It doesn’t actually give you more perception, or more awareness, in terms of the game mechanics. It effectively means that you are so quick that any time you would have been surprised, you can act on your first turn, rather than spending it figuring out what’s going on.
