Does the help action work on ranged attacks?

Only the enemy must be within 5ft of you A creature being attacked by your ally. This lets you help ranged attackers and spellcasters in addition to melee. Note that the non-attack version of help also doesn’t require your ally to be within 5ft of you, but your DM should apply reasonable restrictions.

How do you use help action?

When you take the Help action, the creature you aid gains advantage on the next ability check it makes to perform the task you are helping with, provided that it makes the check before the start of your next turn. Alternatively, you can aid a friendly creature in attacking a creature within 5 feet of you.

What can you do if you are an ally?

If you are an ally, you are not directly targeted by that particular oppression or set of circumstances. You can see outside of it and present a different point of view. Your point of view can be helpful to people who are targeted.

Why do I use the word ally in this guide?

I use the word “ally” loosely because I find it overused and often abused by those who label themselves “allies.” Despite its current misuse, using a different word would only cause confusion. As you read through this guide, be aware that your definition of “ally” may not be the same as the definition I’ll introduce you to.

When do you use the help action in RuneScape?

Starting at 3rd level, you can use the Help action as a bonus action. Additionally, when you use the Help action to aid an ally in attacking a creature, the target of that attack can be within 30 feet of you, rather than within 5 feet of you, if the target can see or hear you.
