A Wild surge is an event that occurs 5% of the time when a Wild Mage attempts to cast a memorized spell, or 100% of the time when they attempt to cast through Nahal’s Reckless Dweomer. If the roll exceeds the mage’s wild surge threshold, the effect from the table will replace the spell.
