Forcecage is just a few walls of force stuck together. A target cannot leave by any non-magical means. They can use teleportation or any form of interplanar travel (like Plane Shift, Demiplane or Gate) to leave but must make a Charisma saving throw – succeeding means they escape, failure means they don’t.
Is Force Cage concentration?
The principal use of forcecage, in my experience, is the creation of a blender/gas chamber/incinerator with a concentration, damage-each-round spell. It’s the bigger, scarier version of wall of force that has fewer ways out and doesn’t require a buddy, and also can trap a bigger target.
