Manually select your region:
- Exit Diablo III and log out of the Battle.net desktop app.
- Click the Gear icon and select Continue Without Logging In.
- Launch Diablo III.
- Click Options, then select Account.
- Select a region from the Server Region Selection dropdown and click Accept.

If you installed to a different location I am not sure I can help you. 1 possible way might be to right click your diablo 2 shortcut and click open file location. This is in Vista which I use. I cannot say if this works for other OS. Program files may be hidden from you as well which may be why you cannot find them.
