Thanks for the A2A. You can have Steam show an FPS counter when playing games in your library if you want, including Skyrim. Under Settings, sub setting In Game, you will find a drop down box for an in-game FPS counter with 5 options:Off,Top-left, Top-right, Bottom-left and Bottom-right.
