4 Answers. The choice between Stormcloaks and the Imperials is supposed to provide a little more immersion in the story: you choose a side, and while both sides have comparable quests, they take on a different flavor and will have different actors.
Can you destroy the Stormcloaks and Imperials?
No, at least not in an unmodded game. The civil war plotlines have no “third option”. You either side with the Stormcloaks and save Skyrim, side with the Imperials to control it for the elves, or stay out of it altogether.
Can you do Civil war quests after season unending?
Once you start Season Unending, you can’t complete the civil war until you finish the main questline. There’s nothing stopping you from playing the civil war questline in the same savefile after you finish the remaining main quests.
What happened Karthwasten?
Sometime during the Skyrim Civil War, prior to 4E 201, the town of Karthwasten was the site of a massacre allegedly committed by the Stormcloaks, who disputed their responsibility for the bloodshed. During his stewardship, Karthwasten was targeted by the Silver-Blood family of Markarth.
Can I join the Stormcloaks and the Imperial Legion?
No, you have to choose a side. Or just do neither. No. You can have “Join the Stormcloaks” and “Join the Legion” both active at once, but once you join one you get an automatic quest failure for the other one. I wanted to join the dragons.
Is there more money for Stormcloaks than Imperials?
There’s Not As Much Money The Stormcloaks are still just rebels at the end of the day so they don’t have a lot of funds supporting them like the Imperials do. This usually means the rewards at the end of quests aren’t as good either.
Why are the Stormcloaks bad for the Empire?
They also bring in a healthy amount of trade and commerce. While the Empire’s modernized policies are good, it’s clear that General Tullius (or most anyone in the Imperial Legion that isn’t a Nord themselves) has, at best, a very poor grasp on Nord culture and tradition, making their presence and authority feel alien and invasive.
Why does balgruuf always side with the Stormcloaks?
Sadly, players will have to oust him if they decide to commit to the Stormcloaks. That’s because Balgruuf will always choose to side with the Imperial Legion regardless of which side the players pick. That means he’s pretty much the final enemy the players have to face in the Whiterun Siege if they joined the Stormcloaks.
