It is possible to travel to Skuldafn using the console command: coc skuldafn01 ( skuldafn02, skuldafn04, skuldafn05 and skuldafn06 will move the Dragonborn to different areas). The portal to Sovngarde is the only exit from Skuldafn, and fast travel is not possible.
Can you walk to Skuldafn?
The only way to reach Skuldafn is by forcing Odahviing to fly you there; this is accomplished during The Fallen. He will fly off after leaving you there. The only way to leave Skuldafn is to take the portal to the Nordic afterlife.
Is it possible to return to Sovngarde?
Currently there is no way to return to Skuldafn (not even through exploits, as Skuldafn cannot be found in the “normal” world and is only accessible through that one quest) once you leave. If you missed something, you will sadly have to reload an earlier save.

Hi. Due to some unknown problem/bug, I am unable to complete the first room of Skuldafn Temple. I have rotated the pillars to their correct positions yet it won’t open the gates no matter what. I’ve tried many combinations yet nothing works. I’ve tried reloading a previous save. I don’t know what’s wrong or how to solve it.
Why does the game say Skuldafn instead of Skyrim?

There are two turn-stone puzzles and a puzzle door inside the temple. For the first turn-stone puzzle, the outside stones must match the key stones near them on either side.
