Set the Map to your map graphics file. Give your new map a unique Name. The map name is visible to your players, so keep it free of spoilers. To switch between maps, click the Select Map button in the top-right corner of the MapTool window, and choose the map name in the drop-down menu that appears.

Do you need a game system for Maptool?

Clever users have even gotten it to approximate a 3D look with isomorphic maps.

Since recent versions of MapTool are backward-compatible, the most recent versions of the tool will be able to load these campaigns with no trouble. So — you download the campaign file, start MapTool, open the campaign, and there you go! Start importing or drawing your maps, and then start your server. You’re good to go.
