- Meet the map. What is the title? Is there a scale and compass?
- Observe its parts. What place or places are shown?
- Try to make sense of it. What was happening at the time in history this map was made?
- Use it as historical evidence. What did you find out from this map that you might not learn anywhere else?
What is the first thing you should do when you begin to analyze a map?
The first thing you need to do with a map is read the title so that you know what you are looking at. Ask, “What is the title of this map?” ‘Map of the World: Political”. So this map should give us information about the location of countries.
How do I open map view?
