Nothing special happens to the weapon at all. It’s just “an object inscribed with this rune”. The rune is really just an effect you apply to yourself, but it’s anchored to a weapon, armor or shield you wear or carry. The Rune Knight definitely doesn’t need any additional help killing stuff.
