Unless you can scavenge enough Obsidian from Fortresses to build a new Nether Portal and either are lucky enough to have a blaze or ghast ignite the portal OR make a flame charge OR have brought a trusty flint and steel with you – then yes, death is the only way out of the Nether.
What kills you in the nether?
Arrows would definitely be the easiest way to kill these guys and once you get a couple Fire Resistance Potions the nether should be no problem….There are six big dangers in The Nether:
- Ghasts.
- Zombie Pigmen.
- Magma Cubes.
- Blaze.
- Lava.
- Fire.
How to escape the Nether portal in Minecraft?
Add the server you were just on with the [+] button in the top right corner. Name it if you want, but the important part is writing the address. Log into the server on Minechat! You can now perform commands! TP to whoever you can to escape, go to your home, or whatever you need to do to escape Call out your trappers!
How do you unlink a portal in the Nether?
The nether is 8 times smaller than the overworld. You don’t unlink them, you link them to something better by creating a matched portal in the nether. Occasionally this will cause the other portal to link to your new portal.
Why is the Nether portal not returning me to the original portal?
Most likely because Minecraft was unable to place the portal in the Nether where it should have gone and so it got placed nearby but far enough away that it doesn’t connect to the Overworld one.
What happens if you place a portal above the Nether ceiling?
If such space is found nearby, all will be good, the new portal will lead back to the same one in the overworld. Note that the game will only scan within the map height. That means that if you place a portal above the nether ceiling, it won’t be found, and the game will create a new one for you.
