A few tips:
- Focus on information. Not fluff.
- Focus on impact. How did it affect you?
- Mention it even if your counselor is mentioning it.
- If you choose to discuss mental health issues, be sure to run it by your counselor before submitting, as depression and anxiety can often raise more questions than they answer.

Added, extra, or supplementary to what is already present or available. ‘we require additional information’
Do you have to list all your skills on your resume?
These are a list of skills, not all of which are worth listing in your resume. Employers call applicants for an interview only when their resume matches the specific professional skill set they need. Padding your resume with a list of skills, as impressive as it looks, won’t help your application if those skills aren’t related to the job.
What can you do to improve your skills?
Working on your abilities can make your more productive and confident in whatever you plan to do. You can gain or improve skills in everyday life and work by taking classes, finding a mentor and regularly training.
What should I put in my experience section on my resume?
Depending on your background, this could also be called ‘professional experience’, ‘work experience’, or ‘relevant experience’. Your experience section is the perfect place to back your skills up with real-life examples of when you have used your skills, in addition to the results you have achieved.
What should be included in soft skills section of resume?
For instance, an applicant’s definition of ” good communication skills” might not match equal what an employer is looking for. Public speaking, communication, patience, decision making and conflict resolution are all soft skills. Both are important to include in the skills section of a professional resume.
