- Click the Internet option on Standard or Pitboss and select a server to join.
- Input the IP address of a server you’re familiar with on Pitboss mode.
- Find people on Civilization forums: the Civilization V forum on Steam, Civ Fanatics, or the 2K Forums.
Does anyone still play Civ 4?
The game is alive and well, and will be in a 100 years as well. There is a bunch of strats out there, but gameplay is constantly evolving still. Not to mention some forms are still less played (no tech trading etc.). I don’t think I’ll ever stop playing civ4, even if I fire it up every few years.

Is there a way to play civilization by e-mail?
The Civilization series of games is famous for having a way to play by e-mail. This allows people to take a long time on their turn without holding up the other players, as you do in a real-time game. Yet, I can not find any method to play by e-mail in the game menus.
How to play Civilization 4 Like other games?
But Civilization 4 looks different for me. In the other games, there will be some initial workers. I use them to get food/metal/wealth/build. Then build an army. But in Civilization 4 I am not able to do any of the things that I used to do in other games. I am not able to build anything, not able create workers/warriors.

Is there a learning curve for Civilization 4?
Civilization has a very steep learning curve but if you like strategic games with a lot of depth you really should get through that and you find a really amazing game behind it. It has tons of depth and almost an endless amount of options to finish the game. Civilization is a turn based game.
