Slow Fall. Beginning at 4th Level, you can use your Reaction when you fall to reduce any Falling damage you take by an amount equal to five times your monk level.
How far can a monk fall?
How far can the monk move before falling in? 90 feet. The monk can spend one ki point and use Step of the Wind to take Dash as a bonus action, then take Dash again as their action for the turn, so they may move 90 feet in total that turn.
Do monks get feather fall?
The monk ability Slow Fall says it reduces damage, but doesn’t say anything about fall speed. The Feather Fall spell says the falling speed reduces to 60 feet per round for the minute the spell lasts.
Are monks immune to fall damage?
You take falling damage when you hit the ground, and at that point you fell, you are not falling anymore. Therefore, a Monk spends its reaction before taking damage. Narratively, it doesn’t make much sense to choose to fall slowly after you have already landed face down on the ground.
Can a monk’s slow fall negate all damage?
The DM could rule that the monk’s Slow Fall negates all damage but what she would take from the momentum (distance she fell) before she was caught or all damage period if it’s within his allotted “damage reduction”. the 5 x monk level figure is the damage reduced, not the number of feet falling distance, though.
How does slow fall work in DND 5e?
Essentially it functions as a level/feet dependent Feather Fall spell. Unlike previous editions of D&D the 5th edition’s version of Slow Fall doesn’t require a monk to grab hold of nearby walls or trees to slow their fall: Essentially they drop like people in martial arts movies do.
Can a monk carry a PC on his back?
Lacking any particular description shouldn’t a monk be able to carry someone (a fellow PC clinging to their back, for instance) so long as the additional weight doesn’t surpass the monk’s encumbrance capacity?
