Heavy Armor Master is good. The amount of damage you take that it prevents is good all throughout your levels. It may not seem like a lot at higher levels, but if you get hit more than a few times, just calculate how much hp you saved and you’ll see.
Is heavily armored feat worth it?
The answer is generally, yes. As many attacks as a fighter draws (or should draw, with proper damage output), Heavy Armor Master generally soaks as much or more damage as Tough. Also, +1 Strength. That’s not nothing.
