Is Glyph of Warding worth it?
Glyph of Warding is a brilliant tool, especially for Wizards who can do a lot with it. At low level it is costly: 200 gp per use and it takes 1 hour to cast. If you have a Spell Gem of appropriate level you can put the glyph spell into it. It’ll still take the hour to store the spell but now only requires 100 gp.
Is Glyph of Warding permanent?
Yes, you can set Glyphs of Warding to trigger at a certain time. While the PHB provides examples, it never says the trigger can’t be a date, therefore, as long as you are willing to spend 200 3rd level spell slots or you can coordinate very well with some fellow casters, you could enrich the land for 100 years.
Is Glyph of Warding a trap?
Glyph of Warding protects lairs and treasure, so PCs don’t cast it anymore. They used to cast it. Traditionally, glyphs appear as traps in empty crypts and on treasure hoards, but glyphs work best as defenses in combat encounters.

Does spell glyph use 2 spell slots?
It does take two spell slots. Later, it specifies that if you choose the spell glyph option, you cast the spell you choose to store (emphasis added): You can store a prepared spell of 3rd level or lower in the glyph by casting it as part of creating the glyph.
Can you cast Glyph of Warding on a weapon?
The Glyph of Warding spell can be cast on either an object or an area. For the object version, only “opening the warded object” is mentioned as a valid trigger.
Can you disarm a glyph of warding?
If you only define glyph of warding as a spell, then unless otherwise noted (such as the movement bit in the glyph description), you can safely assume that only those effects that disable spells (dispel magic, antimagic field or the like) will take down a glyph.
Can you have multiple glyphs of warding?
Yes, they can, because glyph of warding lasts until dispelled. It also does not require concentration: You lose concentration on a spell if you cast another spell that requires concentration. You can’t concentrate on two spells at once.
