What is ZZ CT?
ZZ-CT is a 3×3 method proposed by Chris Tran. It is a variant of the ZZ Method with a unique 2 look LSLL, divided into TSLE and TTLL. TSLE inserts the last edge whilst orienting all corners. The D corner is completely ignored, and is recognized purely from corner orientation and shape, just like an OLL.
What is the ZB method?
The Zborowski-Bruchem Method (also known as the ZB method) was invented by Ron van Bruchem and Zbigniew Zborowski in 2003. After solving the cross and three F2L pairs, the final F2L pair is solved simutaneously with orienting the last layer edges. This is known as ZBLS.
How many algorithms do you need for OCLL and PLL?
OCLL requires a minimum of 6 algorithms and PLL requires a minimum of 14, giving a total of 20 algorithms for both steps. The average move count is 7.93 for OCLL and 11.21 for PLL which gives a total of 19.14 moves average. [10]
How does the ZZ method complete the last layer?
ZBLL (ZZ-a): Often labelled as the holy grail of speed cubing, this method completes the last layer by orienting the corners and permuting the corners and edges, all in one step. It involves 494 distinct cases, and requires learning a minimum of 177 algorithms assuming mirrors and inverses are applied.
What is the OCLL and OLL-C step?
The OCLL / OLL-C step is the step between the F2L cube state and the LL:CO cube state. Orient Corners of the Last Layer, abbreviated OCLL or OLL-C, is a last layer method that orients the corners preserving edge orientation but permutation for all LL-pieces is ignored. OCLL is a sub group of OLL .
What’s the difference between LL and ZZ reduction?
ZZ-reduction: During the Last Slot, the LL edges are phased and a 2-look orientation + permutation approach is used, with the phased edges preserved in the orientation step, resulting in a reduction of PLL cases down to 9 compared to 21 in full PLL.
