Can you dual wield whips DND?
Yeah, Whip isn’t that well suited for it. Since it’s not light, you can’t by RAW dual-wield them. Rogues don’t come with proficiency at them. So you’ve got a few bits to overcome to make it as effective as using a weapon you’re proficient in.
Can you do a dirty trick with a whip?
These 3 maneuvers are also the only 3 that can normally be done using your weapon (although there is a feat that also allows you to grapple using your whip, but this will not turn the grapple into an attack). How can the whip be optimized as a weapon?
The Wrathful Smite Paladin is a nice idea, though you’re sacrificing damage on two attacks by using a d4, and the frightened/reach combo only works a few times a day, and then only if they fail their save. So I’m guessing you’d wind up wanting to swap to a different weapon some of the time.
