Extra Attack (not Multiattack) lets you strike more than one time with your action only. Bonus action has nothing to do with it. To give you more of a breakdown and expand your options: Extra Attack augments the Attack Action.
Can you use extra attack on an opportunity attack?
Attacks of opportunity offer a single attack, not the attack action. Extra Attack only works on Attack actions on your own turn. Opportunity attacks are reactions, opportunity attacks are not the Attack action, and opportunity attacks explicitly say you only get one melee attack with them.
Can you grapple with extra attack?
No. The Attack action counts as the Attack action. But a feature that triggers when you take the Attack action (like Extra Attack) is not invalidated by grappling or shoving. So if you’re a level 5 Fighter (with Extra Attack) and you want to grapple someone and then punch them in the face, you can totally do it.
Does Multiattack count as an attack action?
Multiattack doesn’t qualify, not only because it’s more than one attack, but also because the rule on Multiattack (MM, 11) states that this action can’t be used for opportunity attacks. An action, such as a breath weapon, that doesn’t include an attack roll is also not eligible.
How many times can you Multiattack?
A creature is meant to use Multiattack only on its turn, not on someone else’s. A creature cannot make more than one attack as part of a readied attack: it can use multiattack only on its own turn.
Can you break up a Multiattack?
Technically no, because the multiattack is an entire single action.
Can you attack twice on a reaction?
Beginning at 5th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. The Ready action lets you take the Attack action on someone else’s turn, and thus extra attack does not apply.
Can you attack and cast a spell?
Usually, you cannot cast a spell and attack during the same turn, as most spells, including Fire Bolt, have a casting time of 1 action, and attacking usually requires you to take the Attack action.
Can You multiattack twice with the extra attack?
That means that not only do you not get two Multiattack s, but if you take the Multiattack action you don’t get a second attack from Extra Attack either, because only the Attack action triggers Extra Attack’s benefits.
Can a creature use multiattack with a ready action?
A creature can’t use Multiattack when making an opportunity attack, which must be a single melee attack. Or, in other words, it works exactly the same way as Extra Attack, and can’t be used with the Ready action. In accordance with the other answers here, and with a tweet by rules designer Jeremy Crawford in response to a similar question:
What are the rules for multiattack in RuneScape?
The rules for Multiattack in the Monster Manual (page 11) are perfectly clear: A creature that can make multiple attacks on its turn has the Multiattack ability. A creature can’t use Multiattack when making an opportunity attack, which must be a single melee attack.
How often can a hammerer use its multiattack?
