Shillelagh is a great cantrip in tier 1 (level 1-4). Strength is a useless stat for druids, and Shillelagh let’s you use WIS instead, both for attack rolls and damage, and it makes your weapon magical so it overcomes damage resistance.

Shillelagh does not transform your melee weapon attacks into melee spell attacks, it simply enhances the weapon you are using to make melee weapon attacks. So no, you don’t get the “+2 Bonus to Spell Attack rolls” added onto your melee weapon attacks using the Shillelagh-ed Staff of the Woodlands.
Can you cast Firebolt twice?
Although you could use your Action Surge to cast Firebolt twice, you could only get one bonus action weapon attack total on your turn, since you only get one bonus action per turn (and only on your turn).

How many times can I cast a cantrip?
Cantrips are free magic — if you know a cantrip, you can cast it as many times as you want, whenever you want. Cantrips don’t need to be prepared, and they don’t use up Spell Slots.
Can Wizards copy down cantrips?
You can swap a wizard cantrip with another after a long rest so there is no need to add it to your spell book. You have the basic formula for all cantrips and just make the minor manipulations as needed.

How useful is shillelagh?
Shillelagh will give more consistent and less swingy damage. Attacks of opportunity. Unless you have warcaster, thornwhip dealing 3d6 damage isn’t really going to help you when a target moves out of melee range, but if you have shillelagh up, you can give them a good wallop for leaving your alone.
How does the altered Extra Attack feature of the Bladesinger work?
Either 1 Attack+1 Cantrip, or the three attacks from Fighter. This is the RAW ruling. If you elect to replace on of your attacks with a cantrip, then you are using the Bladesinger’s extra attack feature, which says: You can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
How often can you use the Bladesinger Wizard?
Mechanically, the Bladesinger Wizard is good two times per short rest. During those 1 minute bursts, you actually have a thematically powerful melee warrior… Though you are heavily restricted by armor type and are still quite reliant on magic until much later.
What’s the difference between magic stone and Shillelagh?
Magic stone says that the caster makes a ranged spell attack with the weapon, whereas shillelagh says that it changes the weapon’s properties. I would say that if you attacked with some +3 club, shillelagh would get that bonus.
What kind of spells do I need for bladesinger?
Dual wielding and Warcaster are great. For Spells, you want at least one melee attack cantrip (booming/GF blade). For spells, Shield, Absorb Elements, False Life, Mirror Image and Misty step are ideal for starting off.
