This is such a great spell! Its a great spell for druids. But it’s a real win for rangers.
Can you burn spike growth 5e?
You can’t destroy them, unless the rules say you can. D&D spells work as stated in their description. If the rules say you can do something, you can do it. If they don’t say you can do it, it becomes up for DM ruling.
Does Spike Growth magical damage?
Thank you for not reporting us. The difference with Conjure Animals is that the spell isn’t dealing damage, the spell itself just creates the animals, which aren’t themselves magical. Where as with Spike Growth, it’s the spell effect itself that is causing the damage, thus it is magical.

Logically, yes, if you’re being dragged through spikes, you take damage from them as if you’d walked through them. But logically, if I drag you past my ally, my ally would be able to make an Opportunity Attack, likely more easily than if you were moving under your own power.
