Mine goes black too but if you wait it will load up. My only problem is I cant play online, but I know its possible because I have found lists of servers, just no way to login or connect to them. Works fine without problem on mine. Windows 10 Home. Must be problem on your end. Maybe you just need to wait, Battlefield 2 is quite old.
