Does your alignment have to match your god?
Firstly, there’s nothing that says that your alignment has to match ANY of the choices you make. You can choose to be a cleric of a lawful-good god and be chaotic-neutral. You can play any combination of race and class and background and have any features you want without regard to the alignment you choose to play.
Can paladins sense alignment?
Paladins don’t sense alignment. They sense concentrated evil of planar entities and the undead.
Can paladins be chaotic?
A paladin’s entire class is based upon rigid adherence to their oath, so a chaotic paladin is incompatible with the class. The rules, as applied strictly, would cause the paladin to break his oath very quickly.

Can a Paladin be a cleric in Pathfinder?
Paladins and clerics being restricted in alignment is a 3e-and-before thing (including 3.5e and Pathfinder). That restriction was removed in 4e, and is still absent in 5e. Though it’s funny you should mention Sune, who sets one of the oldest precedents for paladins not matching their deity’s alignment.
Do you need a deity to be a Paladin in 5e?
Only clerics and those with the Acolyte background even have to choose a deity. Paladins don’t need to worship a deity at all in 5e. And characters in general are not restricted by alignment as to which deities they can worship.
Do you have to have a power to be a Paladin?
For paladins in particular, there are no requirements at all for them to follow a power at all. But you are correct that in some earlier editions of the game, such as the 3e, the paladins of the Forgotten Realms setting had to choose a deity and that deity had to have an alignment of LN, LG or NG (page 25 of FR Campaign Setting 3e).
