You can cast Polymorph to change a creature into a beast with less than 100 hitpoints, and then cast Power Word Kill to actually kill the creature outright. If an enemy is flying, cast Polymorph to turn them into a goat so they fall from the sky.
Can a mimic be anything?
Mimics can only strictly turn into objects, that means things like, doors, door frames, key holes, keys, key rings, door knobs, knockers, peep holes- and those are just the door-and-other-doory-objects Mimics.
What kind of attacks do you get in polymorph?
“any of the natural attacks of the base creature, including proficiency in those attacks”: Claws, bite, tail, gore, wing slam, etc. “These attacks are based on your base attack bonus, modified by your Strength or Dexterity as appropriate, and use your Strength modifier for determining damage bonuses.”
What happens to your gear when you polymorph?
If you polymorph into one of these, here’s what happens: “all of your gear melds into your body. Items that provide constant bonuses and do not need to be activated continue to function while melded in this way (with the exception of armor and shield bonuses, which cease to function).”:
Can you activate items while in polymorphic form?
“Items that require activation cannot be used while you maintain that form.”: So no wands, staves, potions, or many slotless magic items. As a GM I might allow you to activate items that don’t meld into your form (consider a Polymorphic Pouch) provided that you have correct anatomy to manipulate it. Again, check with your GM.
Can you transform into a polymorph more than once?
Shapechange lets you transform multiple times, but any transformations after the first won’t increase your HP. Even if you transformed into a form that can cast another polymorph-like spell, you can’t concentrate on two spells at once. Thank you, that was helpful
